Terms of service for ALL families
Sick policy: In the interest of everyone’s health & safety, children are not permitted to attend childcare if ANY of the following apply:
a confirmed or suspected case of any highly contagious illness (i.e. chicken pox, COVID-19, flu, pink eye, hand foot and mouth, etc.)
to return to childcare, children will need at least two negative rapid tests (when applicable) AND none of the symptoms below
a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher within the previous 24 hours (within 48 hours of vaccinations, if children exhibit no other symptoms, the fever threshold is raised to 102.1 degrees)
to return to childcare, children will need to maintain a temperature of under 100.4 degrees at least eight hours after the last dose of fever-reducing medications
two or more episodes of vomiting OR diarrhea within the previous 24 hours
Emergency Department visit or Hospital Admission within the previous 24 hours
unable to participate in normal childcare activities & routines due to fatigue or need for monitoring
requires more care than Jenni can provide without compromising the care of the other children
if your child has a rash, please communicate with Jenni ASAP to determine if they are able to attend childcare (send photos if possible)
If I call to notify you that your child needs to be sent home, please make every effort to pick up your child within two hours. They will be excluded from childcare for a minimum of 24 hours, or until they no longer exhibit any of the above symptoms. Please give me at least two hours notice when you feel your child is well enough to return to childcare.
Absence: If I arrive for pick up and am unable to reach you, I will wait for 10 minutes and make at least three attempts to call. If unsuccessful, I will leave and send an invoice for the full amount of the scheduled service.
Billing: Services will be billed via Quickbooks after completion of the service. All invoices are due the Monday after they are sent. Your balance will be considered overdue beginning on Tuesday- you will accrue a late fee of 5% per day, and will not receive childcare until your account is paid off.
Privacy: The safety of your children is my number one priority. I will never publicly share our current location, plans for the day, or any photos / identifying information of the kids. I do share cropped / blurred photos of our activities on Instagram; please let me know if you do not want your child posted at all.
Travel: We love to get out and about! I have a minivan and large collection of car seats to accommodate the kids. I have memberships to most museums and play spaces in the city, and will let you know ahead of time if we’re planning an activity that would require reimbursement. We usually stay within 30 minutes of the city, but will occasionally travel further, especially in the warmer months. We will never drive more than an hour from the city without prior parent permission. I’m happy to share my location with you if that would make you feel more comfortable.
Contract details for Play School
Contracts required for all childcare arrangements more than 10 hours per week for more than 8 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Contracted childcare hours are guaranteed for the duration of the contract, with the exception of Jenni’s personal time off. The Family will pay the cost of the Guaranteed Hours every week to reserve the Child’s space for the duration of the contract, even if the Family does not require childcare for the full amount of hours in a given week. A minimum of four weeks notice, or pay in lieu of notice, must be provided when terminating a contract before the agreed-upon end date.
Personal Time Off: Jenni will not be available to provide childcare, but will receive pay for their Guaranteed Hours, for a set number of personal days (typically 15 days per year for full-time care). Jenni tracks both Personal & Sick time, and will share those records upon request.
Sick Time: Jenni will follow the same sick policy as the children, and will receive a set number of sick days paid at 50% of the regular rate (typically 5 days per year for full-time care). Jenni will use sick time for any unplanned time off. Additional unplanned time will be taken unpaid or covered with personal time.
Paid holidays: Jenni will not be available to provide childcare, but will receive pay for their Guaranteed Hours, on the following holidays if they fall on a day that the Nanny would have been regularly scheduled to work:
New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Billing: Guaranteed Hours will be billed via recurring invoice every Friday, and are due on Monday. Your balance will be considered overdue beginning on Tuesday- you will accrue a late fee of 5% per day, and will not receive childcare until your account is paid off. If payment is overdue by more than one week, the Childcare Agreement will be void, and the Nanny will take legal action to recover past due wages plus four weeks of wages in lieu of proper notice of termination.
